This week, we participated in IDPE’s Giving Week, which has provided a chance to reflect on the generosity of our donors and say a heartfelt thank you.
Over the last 10 years, The High School of Glasgow Educational Trust has raised over £3,500,000 (including gift aid) through a variety of channels including one-off gifts, regular giving, legacies and of course, major donations. This incredible sum is credited to the kindness and philanthropy of our community.
Our School Captains, Lucy Sillars and Maxwell Wang, took time out of their timetables to share the below message with you:
As we reflect on giving thus far, it has provided us the opportunity to look to the future. Our Annual Fund 2021 will, in addition to raising funds for bursaries, raise money to redevelop the Outdoor Learning Space at the Kindergarten, located in our Junior School in Bearsden.
The benefits of outdoor learning are widely reported, particularly in formative years, as children as young as three gain an appreciation for the world around them, become their own risk assessors and build confidence and resilience through exploration in an active, outdoor setting.
Learning in our Secret Garden complements that which takes place indoors and we are keen to further develop the resources on offer for Kindergarten and create a specific outdoor classroom for children to learn, play and grow in.
