Updates from the HSOG Tennis Courts

The High School had two winning pairs at the annual HSOG Tennis Tournament on Saturday 1st June.

Captain Claudie Quinn (S5) and her partner Julia Smith (S4) (pictured above right) were victorious in the O15s age group, while Bonnie Campbell and Eleanor Cochran (both S1) were successful in the U13 competition. The S3 couple of Olivia Easson and Katie McCall finished second in the U15 event.

These results, when combined, meant the HSOG 'A' team were the overall winners, taking home the girls' competition trophy.

Claudie, Julia and Eleanor returned to the High School tennis courts on Tuesday 4th June, alongside Charlotte Sim (S4), to compete in the Scottish Schools' Tennis Championships semi finals against Wallace High School of Stirling.

The girls' team lost out to strong opposition, falling just short after an impressive run to the semi finals throughout the earlier part of the year.

The boys' team - Matthew Gibson-Smith, Mark Ward, Thomas Whitelaw (all S6) and Conor McGrath Williams (S5) - were also in semi final action against Wallace High. Unfortunately, they too lost out, marking the end of their Scottish Schools' Championships campaign that saw them defeat Boroughmuir High School and Mackie Academy en route.
