Pupils from the Junior and Senior Schools have been hitting the slopes this week, with team success at recent Scottish Schools' Skiing events.

Sixteen High School skiers, ranging from Junior 4 to Senior 5, competed at the SSSA Autumn Dual Slalom competition on Wednesday 3rd October at Bearsden Ski Club, with three of the four High School teams coming away with medals.

The S1-S3 Team of Amy Ashton, Nial Marshall, Eva Shepherd (all S2) and Max Clark (S1) finished second overall, winning Silver medals and qualifying for the national finals later in the year.

Meanwhile, Bronze medals were won by the Secondary Open Team - Aoife Petrie (S5), Harry Pover, Maxwell Wang (both S3) and Alex Sivarajan (S2); and the Primary Team - Rory Shepherd (Trans), Alasdair Buchanan-Wollaston (J6), Theo Stalin (J5) and Persa Donaldson (J4).

These team successes followed on from a successful SSSA Scottish Dry Slopes Championships on Sunday 30th September at Midlothian Snowsports Centre in Edinburgh.

The Minor Boys' Team of Alex Sivarajan, Max Clark, Alasdair Buchanan-Wollaston and Theo Stalin won team Bronze, with Max achieving an individual 8th place finish.

Elsewhere, the Minor Mixed Team were fourth, the Senior Boys' Team were seventh and the Senior Girls' Team eighth, with Persa Donaldson achieving a 14th place finish in the J4-S2 individual category. By virtue of their finishing positions, the Senior Boys have qualified automatically for next month's British Dry Slope Championships, while the Senior Girls' are first reserves for the competition.
