Double Success at Scottish Schools' Indoor Rowing Championships

Two teams of High School rowers became Scottish Champions at Friday's Scottish Schools’ Indoor Rowing Championships.

Taking place at Ravenscraig Sports Facility in Motherwell, the School had not one, but two Gold medal winning teams in the final events of the day, the gruelling 3,000m S6 Boys' and Girls' races.

The winning S6 Boys' team, Ross Flanagan, Ben Hutton, Scott McDonald and Thomas Whitelaw, made it three years in a row that this team has achieved national success. The boys won the S5 title last year, and the S4 competition two years ago.

The S6 Girls' team of Alice BaxendaleJasmine Gillespie, Helena Gronski and Millie Haldane also achieved this feat, as last year's national S5 Girls' winners were once again crowned Scottish champions.

In individual competition, an impressive effort from Jasmine Gillespie also saw her win Silver in the S6 Girls' competition.
