Power Boat Racing Achievements

5 October 2016 | Tagged: Powerboating

Transitus pupil Oban Duncan achieved a rather more unique sporting success during the Summer break.

Oban was victorious in the P1 RIB Challenge at the Powerboat P1 Superstock event which took place at Cardiff Bay over the weekend of 26th-28th August. She raced fantastically to defeat competitors from around the world, in the process, setting a world record for the course!

Oban also recently returned from Sri Lanka where she became the first Union Internationale Motonautique Propstars Ambassador. The UIM are the international governing body for powerboat racing. She has now been invited to Fujairah in Abu Dhabi from 17-23rd October, where she has been asked to give a presentation to the Youth Development Programme delegates, as well as demonstrating her skills on the water throughout the week.

On Sunday 23rd October the UIM final General Assembly will take place where all delegates from around the world will meet. Oban has been asked to give a short presentation to the entire Assembly - the first 10 year old to ever do so from any country!

Well done to Oban on all these fine achievements - we wish her the best of luck in this very exciting opportunity during the October week break!
