The Role of the Prefects

Prefects play an extremely important role at the Senior School

All Sixth Year pupils have the opportunity to become Prefects.  The Prefect System is an integral part of the day-to-day running of the School.  Sixth Year is a time to exercise responsibility and leadership by carrying out specific school duties and giving a lead to younger pupils.

Prefects are responsible for duties before and during Form period, at morning break and at lunchtime.  Prefects ensure that the lunch queue operates smoothly and effectively, that corridors are kept tidy and that outside areas such as the playground and astroturf pitches are used properly and fairly.

The Prefect body is led by the two School Captains and the eight House Captains who make up the Captains' Committee.  The Captains' Committee meet weekly with the SMT to discuss a range of issues and to plan for the week ahead.
