13 November 2018 | Tagged: Senior School

Third Year chef Jessica Mitchell was victorious in the Glasgow heat of the Springboard FutureChef competition on Friday 9th November at City of Glasgow College.

Jessica was challenged with creating two tasty courses for industry judges with a budget of up to £7. She delivered a main course of lamb cutlets with a mint crumb served with fondant potato, pea puree and a lamb jus, followed by a dessert of vanilla panna cotta, served with a cinnamon crumb, caramelised plums and an orange syrup, described by the judging panel as "mind blowing."

Jessica was mentored prior to the competition by previous Future Chef National finalist, Isabella Harten (S6), and Tabitha Steven (S4), Rotary Young Chef of the Year for 2017. She will be looking to continue to learn from them as she goes forward to the Scottish Final at The City of Glasgow City College in February.
