About the Programme

What is the HSOG Warrior Programme?

A structured, performance-focused environment extending beyond the day-to-day school timetable, combining strength and conditioning, on-field rugby coaching, position-specific development and performance education.

Who's It For?

Motivated young rugby players looking to accelerate their development, train in a high-performance environment and improve athletic performance while building confidence and understanding of the game.

Both current HSOG pupils and external athletes are welcome - no school enrolment is required.

When & Where?

Sessions take place at The High School of Glasgow's Senior School campus in Anniesland, making use of top-level gym facilities, grass pitches and 3G facilities.

The programme runs during term time on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, from approximately 6:00pm - 8:30pm (timings may be refined ahead of launch).

The Warrior Programme is separate from the HSOG Rugby Academy, though both share the same development philosophy and coaching approach. It's designed to offer flexible, high-quality coaching alongside a player's existing school and club commitments - no conflict, no compromise.

Programme Structure

How it Works

Initial Intake Cap

The first cohort is limited to approximately 24 athletes in order to ensure high-quality coaching and strong staff-to-player ratios. The capacity may expand to 48 athletes, depending on demand and staffing.

Age & Stage Grouping

Players are grouped appropriately to keep sessions developmentally suitable and challenging. The emphasis is on small-group coaching, quality feedback, individual development and athlete progression.

Performance Pathways

Training standards and athlete development practices are aligned with elite rugby pathways, giving players meaningful exposure to high-performance environments.
