Duke of Edinburgh's Award
The world’s leading achievement award for young people, recognised by employers and universities alike.
The highly popular scheme promotes personal development through participation in an enjoyable programme that is challenging and rewarding in equal measure.
The High School of Glasgow is a recognised DofE Operating Authority, running the award at all levels (Bronze, Silver and Gold), allowing pupils the chance to build confidence, learn new skills, help the community through volunteering opportunities and build key skills to help individuals navigate through adult life.
The school offers participants the opportunity to complete the Duke of Edinburgh's Award by providing support in the Volunteering, Skills, Physical, Residential (Gold only) and Expedition sections.
One of our most popular extra-curricular activities, our dedicated DofE participants take ownership over the completion of their award, with a significant number of pupils completing their Gold award before leaving school. Participants are supported in all activities by DofE Manager, Mr Tom Lyons, as well as a number of committed staff members from within our Senior School.
