Academics
Senior School pupils receive a broad and balanced education that prepares them for national qualifications and inspires them to success in the wider world.
From our Transitus year, pupils receive a rounded education that touches upon all subjects at senior level, including strong foundations in science and the arts. This early introduction to Senior School life for Primary 7 age pupils helps them to identify their interests and strengths, allowing them to confidently choose the path that is right for them.
As pupils continue on through their Senior School journey, the wide and varied range of subjects and interdisciplinary learning on offer allows for programmes of learning to be tailored to each individual child.
Our curriculum is designed to ensure a coherent approach, with aspirational and challenging experiences across all areas. Senior pupils are taught in small sets, keeping the pupil-to-teacher ratio low and ensuring that the needs of each of our young learners are seen and heard.
Our pupils are entered into the Scottish Qualifications Awards system, sitting National 5 qualifications in Fourth Year, Highers in Fifth Year and Highers or Advanced Highers in Sixth Year. An exciting range of vocational subjects are also available throughout.
