Classics National Prize Winner

11 June 2021 | Tagged: Competitions, Senior School

This session, our Classics Department had an impressive 27 pupils, across three different age groups, competing in the annual Gilbert Murray Essay Competition.

Six pupils did well enough to be awarded certificates of merit for their submissions:

  • In the S3-S4 age group - Anas Al-Attar, Melody Ding, Phoebe Lever and Olivia Moulsdale (all S3);
  • In the S1-S2 age group - Molly Gordon and Landi Weng (both S1).

Sixth Year pupil, Marni Robertson, however, performed even better, as she was awarded the National Prize for Most Outstanding Contribution. Her winning entry, a modern retelling of the 'Theseus and the Minotaur' myth in the form of a play, saw Marni awarded a £50 Amazon voucher and a certificate for her achievement.

Well done Marni!
