Calamity Jane

The High School Community enjoyed some fun in The Wild West last week, as they took in the Junior Musical Production of 'Calamity Jane'.

Taking place over a three-night run in the Senior School Assembly Hall, the show featured nearly 80 pupils from Transitus-S2 in a variety of roles, as well as some star turns from members of Senior School teaching staff!

Based on the 1953 film starring Doris Day and the stage musical adaptation of the early 1960s, 'Calamity Jane' tells the story of Martha Jane Canary, an American frontierswoman and professional scout, and her association with Wild Bill Hickock.

The production featured a number of upbeat musical numbers, with the audience of each night getting involved in a highly enthusiastic sing-a-long reprise of 'Black Hills of Dakota' following the curtain call!

From the on-stage stars of the show, to staff and pupil musicians, backstage helpers and everyone who contributed towards the success of 'Calamity Jane'....Take a Bow!
