The 1st XI have enjoyed a strong start to the hockey season, advancing in both the Scottish Schools and BP Cup competitions, as well as picking up their first trophy of the session at the West District Senior Tournament on Wednesday 2nd October.

At the West District Senior Tournament, having won their section following victories over The Glasgow Academy (2-1) and Jordanhill School (1-0), and a 0-0 draw with St Aloysius' College, the girls advanced to the semi final, where they overcame Hutchesons’ Grammar School by one goal to nil in a tight encounter.

The West District final saw a rematch against The Glasgow Academy, a tough match ending scoreless. The girls, however, held their nerve to see off the opposition 4-2 on running penalties.

Another encounter with The Glasgow Academy followed on Saturday 5th October in the Scottish Cup, with the HSOG 1st XI again coming out on top, winning 3-1 to advance to the next round.

Similarly, in their defence of the BP Cup, which the girls have won for the past two seasons, the 1st XI have made steady progress, winning their section and advancing to a semi final later in the term.
