HSOG Rugby win Scottish Rugby L200 Conference!

25 November 2019

The High School of Glasgow have been crowned champions of the prestigious Scottish Rugby L200 Conference for 2019!

Over 170 High School pupils took part in the competition that involved age group teams from S1 all the way up to the School 1st XV. There was some tough competition along the way from other local schools including The Glasgow Academy, Kelvinside Academy, Hutchesons' Grammar School, Marr College and previous winners St Aloysius' College.

All year groups played exceptionally well, especially the 1st XV who completed the competition undefeated, and the 1st and 2nd Year teams who only lost one game throughout. The 1st XV highlight came against local rival Glasgow Academy, the team producing a dominant display resulting in a 52-5 win.

Director of Sport, Phil Smith who only recently joined the School, said:

"The conference is a great chance for our School's rugby teams to work together and compete as one. The players and coaches performed tremendously throughout so it's great to see the hard work and commitment paying off."

Pupils will be awarded the Conference Cup later in the year.
