Prominent Scottish business leader Dr Lena Wilson delivered the 2018 Fraser Lecture to a fascinated Sixth Year cohort on Friday 26 October 2018.

Dr Wilson spoke passionately on the life of a prominent woman in today's business world, discussing the numerous challenges she has faced and overcome in a career that has seen her become one of Scotland's most influential women, and an international business leader.

After an enlightening and engaging lecture, Dr Wilson also kindly took the time to talk with a number of pupils on their own aspirations beyond the High School, towards higher education and into the working world.

Dr Wilson was the first person in Scotland from a public sector organisation to be appointed to the Board of a FTSE 100 company and became the first female and youngest Chief Executive of Scottish Enterprise, a role she occupied for eight years, until 2017. She was awarded a CBE in the 2015 Queen's Birthday Honours list and holds Honorary Degrees from Glasgow’s three Universities.

She is currently visiting Professor of Business at the University of Strathclyde, a Non-Executive Director of Intertek Group plc, Ambassador for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice and Edinburgh Military Tattoo, a member of the Financial Services Advisory Board (FISAB) and previously, chaired Scotland's Energy Jobs Taskforce, set up by the First Minister in response to the challenges facing the industry.
