The High School achieved its first success of the rugby sevens season, with the S3 Boys' team winning the Carrick Academy Sevens Tournament yesterday at Rozelle Park in Ayr.

Dominant group stage performances saw the team of Ryan Street (Captain), Michael Alba, Matthew Cairns, Marlowe Crick, Sam Haldane, Gregor Howie, Cameron JamesWilliam John-Charles, Charlie Kennedy and Rocco Stakis score an impressive 116 unanswered points over three games against opposition from Carrick Academy (48-0), Marr College (17-0) and St Columba's School (51-0).

The team conceded their first points of the day in their semi-final encounter with Wellington School but were still able to prevail, winning 24-7 and setting up a final against St Aloysius' College.

Another strong display saw the boys finish their day with a resounding 41-5 victory over the St Aloysius' Sevens, meaning they took home the trophy.
