Team Victory at Glasgow Athletics Heats

Junior and Senior School athletes teamed up on Friday to achieve success in the Glasgow Primary Schools' Athletics Heats at a sunny Scotstoun.

Over the course of the day High School pupils won ten individual and three relay medals, resulting in the Junior 6 and Transitus boys' team being crowned overall school winners, while the Junior 6 and Transitus girls' team were runners up. 

Individual Gold medals were won by Transitus pupils James John-Charles (P7 Standing Long Jump) and Robbie Walsh (P7 Cricket Ball Throw), as well as Junior 6 pupils Harrison Bruce (P6 600m), Evie Bulloch (P6 Cricket Ball Throw), Cameron Davies (P6 Cricket Ball Throw) and Lucy Howie (P6 600m). The Junior 6 Boys' Relay team of Matthew Allan, Harrison Bruce, James Clark, Max Hyslop and Ben Reeves also won Gold.

Individual Silver medals went to Zu-An Chen (P7 600m), Olivia McDonald (P7 100m) and Georgia Rose (P7 Cricket Ball Throw), all of Transitus, as well as Junior 6 pupil Haris Ali (P6 Standing Long Jump). Silver medals were also won by the Transitus Boys' Relay team of Dylan BurrellZu-An Chen, James John-Charles, Walter Marriot-Laurie and Robbie Walsh, while Bronze Medals were won by the Transitus Girls' Relay team of Anya Cowan, Coryn MacLean, Olivia McDonald, Olivia Moulsdale and Bea Wainwright.

All pupils who finished in the top six positions of their event qualified for the Glasgow Primary Schools' Finals on Wednesday 13th June. Therefore, in addition to the aforementioned, fourth place finishes for Olivia Moulsdale (P7 Standing Long Jump), Aliyah Lamb (P6 Standing Long Jump) and the Junior 6 Girls' Relay team - Lucy Howie, Aliyah Lamb, Libby MacFadyen, Kirsty Pollock and Adriana Sharpe, and sixth place finishes for Dylan Burrell (P7 100m) and Coryn MacLean (P7 600m), will see them return to Scotstoun next week to go for Gold!
