Maths Whizz!

5 September 2017 | Tagged: Senior School, Competitions

Last session Ibrahim Faisal (S1) excelled in Mathematics competitions, taking home a Gold award in the Primary Maths Challenge and winning a Silver medal in the follow-on round for those who achieved particularly high scores in the Maths Challenge.

Ibrahim was selected this summer to represent an eighteen-strong UK team (thirteen of whom were from Scotland) at the World Mathematical Olympiad in Beijing, China, in August.

While even being selected would represent success for some, Ibrahim clearly had other ideas - he managed to win a Bronze medal in the individual competition, one of only six members of the UK team to do so. He was also top scorer in the Bronze medalist group, a fine achievement!

Ibrahim can be seen below receiving his award.
