The Girls' Hockey 1st XI battled to victory in the Plate Final at a rain-soaked Scottish Schools' Finals Competition at Glasgow Green on Friday evening.

Having reached the final following victories over Peebles High School and The High School of Dundee in the quarter and semi finals, the girls took to a blustery and soaking Glasgow Green pitch on Friday evening to take on Robert Gordon's College.

The girls took an early two goal lead with goals from Sarah Turnbull and Sammy Bell. However, they were pegged back early in the second half, with the game eventually ending 2-2 and running penalties being required to decide who would take home the Plate. It was the High School team who took advantage, achieving a 4-2 penalty victory, with goalkeeper Daya Panesar in particularly impressive form and Oli Crawford, Sarah Turnbull, Sammy Bell and Fiona Baillie sealing the win.

The High School winning side were Sammy Bell (Captain), Stephanie Wood (Vice Captain), Fiona Baillie, Katie Bulloch, Oli Crawford, Mirrin Gillespie, Tori Maguire (all S6), Rebecca McInnes (S5), Katie Allison, Eve Downie, Catriona James, Daya Panesar, Cate SibbaldKiera Smith, Sarah Turnbull and Lucy Williamson (all S4).
