Bannerman Fundraising Week 2017

Bannerman Ho-Ho-House put on a fantastically festive Fundraising Week recently, raising over £4,000 for Glasgow's Starter Packs charity.

Starter Packs is a Govan-based charity providing all the essentials for those living in social housing and 'in need of a hand up' - items such as bedding, cooking and cleaning equipment and toiletries. The aim is to make sure that these individuals make a success of having their own home and don't slide into homelessness.

Bannerman's appeal was simple - 'Buy-a-Van with Bannerman' aimed to raise a share of the money to allow the charity to purchase a new van for delivering these starter packs throughout the city. They did this through a number of enjoyable activities throughout an extended fortnight of fundraising.

For the more active amongst the School, games of 'football darts' and Santa's Dangerous Delivery, a festive-themed assault course in the Sports Complex on Tuesday; For the gamers, a Fifa World Cup, proving once and for all who was the king of football gaming; For the more musically-inclined, Bannerman Buskers provided entertainment throughout the entire week, while the some of the efforts put forward by staff and pupils in last week's Rap Battle could generously be described as 'entertaining' too! All of this was topped off with a wonderfully festive Christmas market last week, with stocking fillers and tasty seasonal treats on sale.

At last count, Bannerman House had raised the fantastic total of £4,301 for Starter Packs. Well done to all involved on this inspiring effort for a worthy cause.
