Visits and Excursions

Pupils take part in excursions and enjoy regular visits from experts in their field, extending and enhancing in-class learning.

Our younger pupils enjoy more local outings, learning about the communities in which they live. As our children get older, our trips start heading further afield, with exciting excursions recently including visits to Glasgow Science Centre, the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh, Stirling Castle and Whitelee Windfarm.

Pupils also enjoy visits from the likes of Generation Science and Animal Magic, which both compliments and strengthens pupils' understanding of class topics through exciting and interactive learning experiences.

A highlight of the Junior School experience comes in the form of the first residential trip during Junior 5, with our children heading to the city of York to gain a better understanding of their class topic, 'The Vikings'.

Junior 6 pupils, meanwhile, enjoy the perfect send-off to Junior School life as they take part in the annual week-long trip to Newlands Outdoor Activity Centre in Keswick, keenly participating in a number of energetic and thrilling outdoor pursuits that helps them form strong bonds through communication and teamwork.
