Active participation in physical education and sport plays an important part in our pupils' weekly timetables. Our Physical Education provision at Junior School level allows pupils to acquire new sporting skills that not only keeps them physically healthy but also lets them discover and establish new interests. Pupils learn the basics of a variety of sports - from badminton, tennis and gymnastics to basketball, netball and more - our pupils are given the time to unearth which sporting activities spark their imagination.

The nearby Thorn Park is utilised for athletics and cross country running while, from Junior 3 onwards, pupils travel to the Allander Sports Centre in Bearsden to begin weekly swimming lessons.

From Junior 5, pupils participate in weekly hockey and rugby lessons, led by specialist members of our Senior School PE Department - an early introduction to the Senior School sporting experience. Pupils visit the Senior School campus in Anniesland for a timetabled hour of lessons per week.

From Junior 6, pupils get a taste of competitive action, participating in Saturday morning matches against each other, as well as competing against local schools. This stands them in good stead for further competitive sporting action at senior level, readying them for the exciting move into Transitus where they expand on their training and gain further inter-school sporting experiences.
