Making a Gift

We are asking every member of the High School community for support. Your contribution, no matter what the size, will strengthen the School today and in the future.

You can donate online by visiting: you can donate a cheque or standing order by filling out a donation form.

If I can only give a small gift, does it really make an impact?

Yes! Your gift, combined with those from other members of the High School community, provides substantial support for bursaries as well as smaller projects at the Senior and Junior School. Regardless of the level of the gift, it is an expression of your support. Every gift counts and every gift is really appreciated.

Is 100% participation really that important?

Yes! Getting 100% participation in the Annual Fund is important. The joint effort of a number of donors has the potential to provide a considerable sum of money to the Annual Fund. The only gift that is too small is no gift at all.

Is it possible to spread out my payments?

Absolutely! To make a regular gift we ask that you fill out the donation form which includes a banker’s standing order form. Alternatively, you can set up a regular gift online.
What period does the Annual Fund cover? The Annual Fund starts on 1st September each year and closes at the end of August.

Will I receive a tax benefit from my donation?

Yes! Gift Aid gives you an extra 25p for every £1 you donate. Gift Aid is an income tax relief designed to benefit charities. If you’re a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid increases the value of your charity donations by 25%, because the charity can reclaim the basic rate of tax on your gift – at no extra cost to you. The process is really simple. All you need to do is complete the Gift Aid section on our donation form.

How do I opt-out from receiving communication from the Development Office?

To opt-out, please contact the Development Office by post, email or phone.

Gift Aid

As a UK taxpayer, when you make a donation to the High School of Glasgow Educational Trust, we are able to claim back the tax that you have paid on the donation. Therefore, a gift of £100 becomes a gift of £125 as long as you sign the Gift Aid Declaration section of our gift form.

Making a donation from the US

If you are a US taxpayer, you can make a tax deductible gift to the High School of Glasgow Educational Trust online, using the platform provided by the Chapel & York Foundation.
