A step-by-step guide to our admissions process.

From initial research and visiting the School, to participating in entrance assessments and completing the final paperwork, our Admissions Team is here to guide you every step of the way.

Let's Get Started...

Step 1 - Research

Take the time to browse our website and find out more about The High School of Glasgow, our ethos and values. Fill out our enquiry form and request a prospectus - our Admissions Team would be happy to send you either a digital or physical copy to help you find out more about the School.

Step 2 - Your Details

Get in touch with our Admissions Team by making an enquiry through our Admissions Portal, or alternatively, contact them by phone or email. Ask our Admissions Team any questions you may have and let them aid you with the next steps in the admissions process.

Step 3 - Visit Us

Visit our Kindergarten, Junior School or Senior School to discover more about life at our school. Our Admissions Team can arrange a personal tour for you and your family, as well as registering you for our Open Events, ordinarily taking place at the end of October and beginning of November.

Step 4 - Submit Your Application

Ready to apply? Then it's time to set up a new account and complete an application through our Admissions Portal. There is an application fee of £30 for any pupil in Junior 1 - Senior 6. We recommend that all applications are submitted in advance of our Entrance Assessments Day in late January.

Step 5 - Entrance Assessments and Interview

Your child will be invited to sit an entrance assessment in January, prior to the new session beginning in August. Kindergarten and Junior 1 applicants take part in an observed play session, J2-6 applicants are invited to a 'Getting to Know You' Day while all other applicants will complete written assessments. In Senior School, candidates who have performed well in our entrance assessments will be invited to an interview with a member of our Leadership Team.

Step 6 - Secure Your Place

Following entrance assessments and interviews, pupils who have been successful will receive a formal offer letter in the post. This must be completed and returned with the relevant documentation in order to secure your child's place at The High School of Glasgow. Successful candidates will begin their High School journey at the start of the new session in August (unless otherwise arranged). Time to experience the joy of learning!
