House System

While guidance in its widest context is considered to be a whole school function and will remain the responsibility of everyone within the School, the House System plays the key role in this organisation with House Staff having special responsibility for the guidance of pupils.

The House System in the Senior School consists of four houses named after four distinguished former pupils.  Within the system, senior pupils are given the opportunity to display leadership qualities, to shoulder responsibility and to provide support for new and younger pupils.

If there are any matters which parents of S1 to S6 pupils wish to discuss, it would be appreciated if you would contact the appropriate member of the House Staff in the first instance.  House Staff would much rather hear about a problem at an early stage so that we can prevent it from becoming a major worry.

  • Bannerman - Mr Philip Ford
  • Clyde - Mrs Claire Anderson
  • Law - Mrs Jennifer Horne
  • Moore - Mr Gordon McCorquodale

Each House organises outings, social occasions, fund-raising for charities as well as team and individual entrants for competitions and events.

Transitus parents are asked to contact their youngster's Form Teacher or Mr Iain Leighton, one of the Deputy Rectors, if there are any matters which you wish to discuss.

  • Transitus H - MrStewart Leggat
  • Transitus S - Mrs Mhairi Peek
  • Transitus O - Dr Linda Nicholl
  • Transitus G - Mrs Claire Mitchell
